✨Your journey starts here ✨
Hey — we’re really glad you scanned. This page is here to help you enjoy your scent properly, without rushing, overthinking, or feeling like there’s a “right” way to do it. Fragrance is personal. It changes with your skin, your mood, the day — and that’s exactly what makes it fun. But if you're curious to learn and find out more about the art of scent, scroll down and read.
✦ How to test your scent (the easy way)
A few simple tips to help you really understand what you’re wearing — beyond the first spray.
-
Start with 1–2 sprays. You can always add more later.
-
Try it on skin and clothes — they tell different stories.
-
Give it 15–30 minutes before deciding how you feel.
-
Wear it on different days — weather and mood matter more than you think.
-
Check in with it throughout the day, not just at the start.

✦ Where to spray your fragrance
Different placements create different effects.
Fragrance doesn’t just smell different depending on what you wear — it changes dramatically depending on where you spray it.
Heat, movement, skin chemistry, and even fabric all play a role.
Here’s how to use placement intentionally, depending on the effect you want.
✧ Pulse points - warmth & projection
Examples:
Wrists · inner elbows · sides of the neck · base of the throat
Pulse points are warmer areas where blood flows close to the skin.
That warmth helps fragrance evaporate faster, making it feel more alive and noticeable.
What you’ll notice:
-
Stronger opening
-
More projection
-
Faster evolution of the scent
Best for:
-
Evenings and social settings
-
Rich, warm, gourmand, spicy or woody fragrances
-
When you want the scent to be noticed
Tip:
1 spray per pulse point is enough. More heat = more intensity.
✧ Wrists - classic, but missunderstood
Wrists are popular because they’re warm and easy to smell throughout the day.
What they do well:
-
Help you test how a fragrance evolves
-
Create movement and soft projection
Common mistake:
Rubbing wrists together.
This breaks the structure of the fragrance and can flatten the scent.
Best practice:
Spray once and let it dry naturally.
✧ Neck & Collarbone - intimate and close
Spraying on the sides of the neck or collarbone creates a personal scent bubble.
What this placement does:
-
Feels intimate and skin-close
-
Allows others to notice the scent only when close
-
Softens strong fragrances
Best for:
-
Date nights
-
Musks, florals, soft ambers
-
When you want subtle presence, not loud projection
Go light, especially in warm weather.
✧ Behind the ears - use with care
This area is often mentioned, but it’s very skin-chemistry dependent.
Why it can be tricky:
-
Oilier skin
-
Traps moisture
-
Can distort delicate or clean notes
-
Can turn musks or florals sour for some people
When it can work:
-
Cold weather
-
Rich, resinous or woody scents
-
Very light application
Best approach:
Test lightly — it’s not a universal “safe” spot.
✧ Behind the knees - soft & elegant
This is a lesser-known but beautiful placement.
What happens here:
-
The area is warm but less oily
-
Fragrance rises gently as you move
-
Creates a soft, diffused scent trail
Best for:
-
Warm or spring/summer weather
-
Dresses, skirts, bare legs
-
When you want elegance and subtlety rather than projection
How to apply:
1 spray max. Let it dry. Don’t rub.
✧ Clothes - longevity & projection
Fabric holds scent very differently than skin.
What spraying on clothes does:
-
Makes fragrance last longer
-
Slows down evaporation
-
Preserves top notes
-
Increases projection
Things to keep in mind:
-
Less evolution than on skin
-
Can smell flatter over time
-
Always test first to avoid staining
Best fabrics:
Wool · cotton · scarves
Great for lighter scents that fade quickly.
✧ Hair (or around it) - soft aura
Hair holds scent well and helps it travel through the air as you move.
Caution:
Alcohol-based perfumes can dry hair.
Best method:
-
Spray near the hair, not directly
-
Or spray on a scarf or outer layer instead
This creates a light, airy halo.
✦ How to make your fragrance last longer
If your scent fades faster than you’d like:
-
Apply on clean, moisturised skin
-
Use an unscented lotion first ( or scented if you like to mix scents)
-
Spray on skin and on clothes
-
Avoid rubbing the fragrance into skin
Longevity isn’t only about strength — it’s about preparation.
✦ How fragrance evolves - notes explained
Most perfumes unfold in stages:
-
Top notes — what you smell first (fresh, bright, quick to fade)
-
Heart notes — the core of the scent (florals, spices, character)
-
Base notes — what lingers (woods, musks, amber, vanilla)
If a fragrance smells different after an hour, that’s normal —
it’s revealing itself, not changing randomly.
✦ Fragrance concentrations - made simple
Different concentrations are designed for different effects:
-
Eau de Cologne (EDC): very light, fresh, short-lasting
-
Eau de Toilette (EDT): airy, easy, everyday
-
Eau de Parfum (EDP): richer, longer-lasting, more depth
-
Extrait / Parfum: very concentrated, skin-close but powerful
Stronger doesn’t mean better — it just means different moods and moments.
✦ The most important thing to remember
There is no correct way to wear fragrance.
Some people love subtle, skin-close scents.
Others want something that leaves a trail.
Wear it how you like:
-
one spray or five
-
day or night
-
skin, clothes, or both
If it smells good to you and feels right — you’re doing it right.
🎨 Fun tip: layering works best this way
Layering is one of the easiest ways to make a scent feel more you.
A simple rule that works almost every time:
start deep, then go lighter.
Why it works:
Deeper scents last longer and create a stable base, while lighter ones add brightness and personality on top.
✧ Ways to play:
-
Deep perfume + lighter perfume on top
-
Lotion or body cream + perfume
-
Body spray + perfume
-
Perfume + perfume + perfume (yes — if it smells good to you, it works)
✧ How to layer without overdoing it:
-
Apply the deeper scent first
-
Add the lighter one after
-
Keep it to 1 spray each
-
Try one on skin and one on clothes
Unexpected combinations often turn into the most personal ones.
If it makes you smile — you’ve just created your own signature.
Layering is not about rules or perfection.
It’s about playing, noticing, and trusting your nose.

Are your fragrances authentic?
Yes. All fragrances are 100% authentic, sourced exclusively from official retailers or authorised distributors.
We do not sell replicas, inspired versions, or altered formulas.
Each decant contains the exact same fragrance liquid as the original full-size bottle.
Any differences you may notice are natural and depend on skin chemistry, temperature, application, or environment - the same factors that affect a full-size bottle.
Nothing is diluted, reformulated, or altered.
What is a decant?
A decant is a smaller portion of fragrance carefully transferred from an original bottle into a new, sterile atomiser.
Decants allow you to experience a scent properly - across real days, moods, seasons, and wear - before committing to a full-size bottle.

How are the fragrances handled?
All fragrances are decanted by hand using clean tools and brand-new, sterile atomisers. Every order is prepared to order.
We do not pre-fill large batches - each decant is handled individually to ensure freshness, quality, and integrity.
They are stored carefully to preserve their original character, performance, and longevity.
How long will a decant last?
This depends on how often you wear it, but as a general guide:
- 2 ml — approx. 20–30 sprays
- 5 ml — approx. 50–75 sprays
- 10 ml — approx. 100–150 sprays
This gives you enough time to truly live with a fragrance rather than judge it from a single spray.

All orders are shipped using tracked delivery, so you can follow your parcel from dispatch to delivery.
Tracking details will be sent to you once your order has been shipped.
How are decants packaged?
Each order is carefully packaged to ensure your fragrances arrive securely and safely.
Decants are sealed, cushioned, and protected to prevent leakage or damage during transit.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship from the United Kingdom to the UK, USA, Canada, and selected European countries.
At checkout, you’ll see a list of all the countries we currently ship to.

Can I return or exchange a decant?
We accept returns or refunds in specific cases, and always with proof of purchase.
This includes situations where:
- You received an incorrect item
- Your item arrived damaged or defective
- Your order was incomplete or missing items
For hygiene and safety reasons, decants cannot be returned or exchanged once opened or used, in line with UK regulations for sealed personal-use items.
If something isn’t right with your order, please contact us and we’ll take care of it.
Please ensure you’ve selected the correct fragrance and size before opening.

Do you sell full-size bottles?
No. Mireya specialises in fragrance discovery through decants.
When you fall in love with a scent, we encourage purchasing the full-size bottle directly from the brand or from reputable, authorised fragrance retailers. Our goal is to help you explore and decide - not to replace the full-bottle experience.
If you ever need guidance, you’re welcome to email us and we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction.

Why decants instead of buying a full bottle?
Decants allow you to discover fragrance slowly and intuitively.
Instead of deciding in a moment, you can observe how a scent evolves on your skin, how it fits your lifestyle, and how it feels over time - leading to more confident, meaningful choices.

How should I store my decants?
For best results, store your decants in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Proper storage helps maintain the fragrance’s original scent profile over time.
Are you affiliated with the brands?
No. Mireya is an independent fragrance discovery platform and is not affiliated with the brands whose fragrances are featured.
